The "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise might have brought Dakota Johnson's career to another level, but her personal life has taken a hit as she confessed to having split with boyfriend Matthew Hitt.

Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt reportedly had a falling out during filming of "Fifty Shades of Grey" because her rocker boyfriend couldn't deal with all the hype the erotic movie was getting.

"Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something that he wanted to be a part of," the source told Us Weekly.

After the hype surrounding "Fifty Shades of Grey" subsided when the film was released on Valentine's Day, the two reportedly got back together.

"She's giving it another shot," the source told the magazine.

The article continued, "Another insider says they 'never really stopped talking,' but put the romance on hold when her Fifty Shades commitments got crazy. 'She really does like him.'"

But Dakota Johnson and boyfriend Matthew Hitt have split again as the "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress confirmed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The talk show host asked Dakota Johnson if she's in a relationship and she replied, "no" before giving an awkward laughter.

Ellen DeGeneres asked, "So is it harder for guys, are guys scared of you? Or do you notice a difference in guys approaching or not approaching you?"

And Matthew Hitt's ex replied, "I don't know... I guess that if those are the two options, I guess they're scared of me. They either love me or they're running for the hills."

Could the decision of Dakota Johnson to reprise her role as Anastasia Steele had something to do with the split from boyfriend Matthew Hitt? There's no word from either rep to confirm or deny the speculations.

Nevertheless, after the split with Matthew Hitt, Dakota Johnson was linked to former boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.
