BoA receives Korea drama awards for female new face in drama

Singer BoA received the female new face award at 2013 Korea Drama Awards (KDA). On 2013 Korea Drama Awards ceremony, which took place in Jin Ju stadium in Jin Ju, Kyung Nam, on October 2, 2013, BoA received the award for her role in KBS 2TV's 'Hope for Dating.

BoA played a college student Ju Yeon Ae, who suffers from dating anxieties on KBS 2TV's 'Hope for Dating,' (Script Ju Hwa Mi, Production Lee Eun Jin) which was aired last September, and received good reviews.

This award is BoA's first award in acting since her debut as a singer in 2000.

BoA during the ceremony said, "The drama was only two episodes long, but I received such a huge award for it. I am grateful for that," adding that, "Thank you for the staff members and fans who watched me grow as an actress this past summer."

BoA also said, "I would like to share this honor with my family. I am delighted yet weary that I received a 'new face' award, but I appreciate it nonetheless."

The KDA ceremony was MC'd by Oh Sang Jin and a member of girl group Moon Sorbet, Subin, and lasted for two hours. Four Men and Moon Sorbet performed on stage as well.
