On April 29, IU appeared alongside actor Byeon Woo Seok on Yoo In Na's radio program "Yoo In Radio", where the three engaged in a playful balance game about dating styles. The game posed a choice between two types of partners: the "blank-minded type" who goes along with everything and the "alarm clock type" who plans every minute.

IU chose the alarm clock type partner. When Byeon Woo Seok teased her by asking, "Do you like it when it feels suffocating? Like being rushed with 'We have to go now, now'?" IU smiled and said, "If the partner is blank-minded, I think it would be exhausting to do all the preparing. But I'm good at adapting to the other person, so that type would seem cute too," as per Koreaboo.

Yoo In Na was quick to voice her concern about IU's dating style. She said firmly, "Don't be ridiculous." She pointed out, "I always follow whatever is suggested, but it's to a dangerous extent. Even when she's completely drained, she doesn't signal it and keeps accommodating until she collapses, drawing laughter. She then gave practical advice: "You should just pick the blank-minded type. Don't get sick," according to Naver.

Reacting to Yoo In Na's comments, IU admitted some doubt, saying, "Now that I hear it, maybe the blank-minded type is right," and the room filled with laughter.

IU's approach to love has been private yet philosophical. On her personal channel, she once shared her belief about relationships: "If you truly love, you don't have to keep talking about love. It's something deep in your heart."

Since 2022, IU has been publicly dating actor Lee Jong Suk but has kept their relationship low-key, avoiding frequent public commentary.

Separately, according to The Chosun Daily, despite the success of "Perfect Crown" in terms of viewership and global popularity, lead actors IU and Byeon Woo-seok have received mixed reviews for their performances and chemistry.

The drama, which has consistently topped ratings and gained international attention, has been praised for its popularity but criticized for the actors' portrayals. IU's performance was compared to her role in "Hotel Del Luna," with some viewers finding it overly contrived, while Byeon Woo-seok's acting was noted as stiff.

Though both actors had delivered strong performances in previous works, their roles in "Perfect Crown" started off shaky, and some viewers have expressed disappointment with the lack of chemistry between the two, especially in their romantic scenes.
