Song Joong Ki was injured while filming an action scene for the upcoming drama "Descendants of the Sun."

According to the Korean media outlet Sports Donga, the actor hurt his arm while filming the scene on November 23. His filming schedule has been cancelled until November 26.  Song's arm is in a splint but the production company says the injury is not serious. They are waiting for the results of some tests taken by the hospital.

"We will have to wait for the results of the tests from the hospital, but it isn't fractured and it's not serious," a representative of the drama's production company told Sports Donga. "Fortunately, it shouldn't be a cause for huge worry."

"Descendants of the Sun" is Song Joong Ki's first drama since he finished his two-year mandatory military service. In "Descendants of the Sun" he plays Captain Yoo Shi Jin, the team leader of the Special Warfare Command Unit in a war torn country. There he encounters Kang Mo Yeon, a doctor played by Song Hye Kyo. They clash and eventually fall in love.

Fortunately, Song Joong Ki's injury is not expected to delay production for too long. At any rate, much of the drama was filmed in advance as it was shot overseas locations. "Descendants of the Sun" is expected to air in February 2016.
