iPhone To HTC One A9 Trade-In Extended Until Jan. 7; Phone Is Hot Item As Firm Saw 731 Percent Up In Sales

HTC is extending its Black Friday and Cyber Monday trade-in offer for the One A9 until January 7, 2016. The company saw a 731 percent up in year-over-sales with the One A9 as the hottest item. More than 10 percent of those who got an HTC One A9 were iPhone users, so the Taiwanese OEM decided to extend the promotion, reported Android Central.

For those who have a qualified phone, they can trade it in with the HTC One A9 until Jan. 7 next month. Smartphones Phone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus have a trade-in value of $499 as HTC puts it so anyone can do a swap without paying anything. For other smartphones with lesser trade-in values, consumers have to pay the difference to get the One A9.

For the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, HTC placed a trade-in value of $200 so getting an A9 will cost them $299. For LG G3 and G4, the trade-in credit is $100.

The trade-in program became so popular said Android Authority as the offer received lots of positive feedback as iPhone owners showed up to swap their device for an HTC One A9.

For those who want to swap from other mobile platforms to Android, or those who, at least would want to have an Android phone, this could be their best opportunity. Consumers who want to replace their current Android devices could jump on this opportunity as well.

The HTC One A9 has been viewed by many as an iPhone 6 copycat, but HTC denied it, saying it is an evolution of their previous phone designs. According to ITWeb, it might not be original, but it is still an elegant, great design that is durable and has a good feel in the hand.

Compared to its predecessor HTC One M9, it improved significantly design-wise. The device sports a curved 2.5D screen-glass on the front and a metal unibody at the back. The buttons on its side are easy to distinguish with just by touch, courtesy of the ribbed texture.
