The respectable Yahoo Messenger app was among those that innovated text chat during the early days of the Web, and now Yahoo wants to give the service fresh features like those in Skype or Snapchat, reported iMore.

Users can already "unsend" anything they have sent - text message, GIF file or picture. They can also "like" a message, a feature that is very popular in social site Facebook.

The new Yahoo Messenger app has various GIF from which the users can search for what suits them most while having virtually unlimited and growing library of GIFs from the Tumblr community.

"Not only is the quality of the photos amazing when viewing on Yahoo Messenger, but you can download the original in full quality. And you don't need to worry about limited photo storage, because the app loads images just as (actually, just before) you need them. It's like magic." Yahoo said.

The YM app also understands the relationship between the user and his contacts with the "smart" contact system. The service is now faster, and when offline, will save messages and sent files and will deliver them once the user goes online. No need to resend or refresh.

The next-generation of Yahoo Messenger app offers a lively messaging experience which now integrates Xobni, Tumblr and Flickr. Created with "group messaging" in mind, the venerable app was" built from the ground up." It is now available worldwide on the Web and Yahoo Mail, as well as on mobile devices like iOS and Android, a post on the Yahoo site said.

With Flickr, the new Yahoo Messenger app brings sharing to a new level as one can simultaneously send hundreds of photos which will be seen by everyone in the conversation. The quality of the photos viewed on YM will be more amazing. There is no need to worry about photo storage, as the app loads images as the user needs them.

The ability to "Like" is ideal when friends decide to meet for lunch. One proposes a venue and the rest will vote or "like" it.

Emojis are expanded with GIFs and help users express themselves. The new Yahoo Messenger app takes speed seriously. Syncing conversations happens almost real-time.
