After being grateful on Thanksgiving, now is the time to be giving and Samsung is one of those who want to give. It is sending $50 Best Buy e-gift cards to Galaxy customers who activated Samsung Pay from Nov. 20 to Dec. 31.

Those who did activate their Samsung Pay should check their Inbox for the gift card, reported Phandroid.

Samsung Pay runs especially on the new Galaxy mobile devices. Recently, the world's biggest phone maker also added eight new card issuers and banks to Samsung Pay. The South Korean's wireless payment service supports both Near Field Communication and Magnetic Secure Transmission. Hence, even outlets without NFC can work with the service if they have the MST.

When using the MST technology, it will appear that the smartphone communicates with the regular swipe reader as if it is a regular debit or credit card.

Samsung Pay is compatible with select carriers, cards and Samsung devices. The Samsung Best Buy e-gift cards offer is valid only for activations completed between Nov. 20 to Dec. 31 on any Galaxy phone after registering a compatible card.

The Best Buy e-gift card promo was announced as early as when the promo period started. A report on TechnoBuffalo said that the South Korean giant's mobile payment service is pretty cool, but, like other services of its kind, it only works if the consumer's bank supports the app.

In late November, Samsung added Chase as another support of Samsung Pay. All Visa debit and credit cards issued by JP Morgan Chase will work with Samsung Pay, and for devices like Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus or Note 5. To celebrate the expansion, Samsung is also offering the Best Buy gift card.

It should be clear that there is no need to use a specific debit or credit card to avail of the Samsung Best Buy e-gift card promo. For instance, it does not specifically requires using Chase to avail the offer. It just requires activation of the payment service with eligible banks like Bank of America, U.S. Bank, American Express, Chase and Citibank.
