The Five Best Budget Android Phones Of 2015: A Roundup Of This Year's Most Affordable Devices

The year is coming to an end and while tech enthusiasts are eager what 2016 has in store when it comes to new products beginning with the CES event in January, 9to5Google took the time to reckon the five best budget Android Phones of 2015 which impressed the industry and won the hearts of many.

A number of manufacturers announced affordable smartphones which impressive specs and components. This list has phones that have been tested and reviewed by the tech site and which price is not more than $250.

The 5.5-inch Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 phablet, priced $249. Many are impressed with its slim body, octa-core chipset, long battery life, clean Android version and full HD display. Initially priced at $199 on pre-order, the phone has few noticeable downsides like the drop frame rate during intense gaming, but it still is a fantastic phone which makes fans eager to see its successor.

The Taiwanese OEM released HTC Desire 626 earlier this year, priced $149. Spec-wise it is not the most impressive or powerful but the design feels good in the hand with its 5-inch 720p display, 16GB storage, 2GB RAM, 13MP rear camera, 2000mAh battery and Snapdragon 410. Its camera can take decent shots and the handset comes in attractive colors.

Among this year's best-feeling and best-looking phones is OnePlus X tagged $249 is an impressive smaller phone with elegant build and great specs, though it still is into the company's usual invite-only system. Its 5-inch AMOLED screen is deep and full of color, its battery life is superb.

When it comes to the five best budget Android phones of 2015, Motorola Moto G 2015 is usually included the list. It is modest, reasonably-sized, refreshingly comfortable with a single hand, simple but sturdy and quite attractive for its category, said Computerworld.

Motorola never fail to impress the tech world as it continuously builds great phones that do not cost a lot. In fact, it pioneered affordable phones with impressive specs years ago which enticed other phone makers to join.

This year, it launched the third generation Moto G, starting at $179. The 5-inch display phone has a 720 x 1280 resolution with the Snapdragon 410 chipset under its hood. It has either 1GB or 2GB of RAM and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 32GB. With customization options, IPX7 water resistant and pure Android experience, Moto G 2015 is one up-to-date fluid phone.

Wileyfox Swift for the European market at £129 or about $185, was a pleasant surprise. The London-based British smartphone maker Wileyfox launched two affordable phones, the more impressive of which is the Swift.  The 5-inch 720p display comes with specs similar to Moto G, except the Cyanogen OS.

The handset is powered by Snapdragon 410 that works with a 2GB RAM and a 16GB storage expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It squeezes itself in the list of the five best budget Android phones of 2015.
