The hype surrounding the new album of Frank Ocean, "Boys Don't Cry," has gone to an all-time high particularly when a new tune from Hudson Mohawke titled "frank o0000oocean" was dropped on Reddit.
Idolator said that there's some reason to believe that the tune referring to Frank Ocean's new album is genuine.
"For one thing, the official twitter account for TNGHT (HudMo and Lunice's joint project) retweeted a link to the thread (which was later un-retweeted)," it said. "And some of the beats indeed appear to be early versions of HudMo tracks. Kanye To The determined that 'Rice Chips' is Lantern track 'Warriors'and 'Where The' eventually became Pusha T's 'Hold On.'"
Meanwhile, The Guardian said that there's some good news for the delay in Frank Ocean's new album "Boys Don't Cry," particularly on the perspective of the label, in terms of marketing potential.
"Ocean's last album, 2012's Channel Orangesold more than half a million copies in the US and Canada, winning a Grammy for best urban contemporary album a year later," it said.
But it's not advisable for the artist to churn out a new album every year. Adele's new album, "25," for instance sold 3.3 million units on the first week alone and that's because she allowed the fans to take a break from her.
"That success, following a break from the public eye, will no doubt encourage the industry to shift towards allowing artists more time to complete an album," it said. "It increasingly looks as if the music industry is learning the benefits of patience."
However, new reports have claimed that Frank Ocean's new album, "Boys don't Cry," might be dropped sooner than later.
A report from NME noted a tweet from producer A-Track which read, "Mark my words: in a few weeks u'll hear a song called White Ferrari, I can't tell u who it's by but it's the best thing u'll hear this year."
