Samsung announced Wednesday two new printing apps, the RemoteCall and the Dynamic Workflow. These apps are the new additions to the Smart UX Center, the company's Android-based UI for Smart MultiXpress multifunction printers, designed to improve productivity and save costs.

They can save users time with its capability to run many documents in a single step and connect printers for remote service, reported Samsung Newsroom.

SVP Printing Solutions Business head David SW Song of Samsung said the contemporary mobile technologies have lots to offer to the business world and around such concept, they are creating a printing system.

"The Smart UX Center and all of the apps that we develop for it will make the printer compatible with Android, offering users greater mobility and connectivity," he stated.

Paid app RemoteCall connects to a remote printer for troubleshooting to an engineer's service system. The engineer can then control the Smart UX Center screen and guide the user via the process. The app has an option for text chat between the customer and support representatives. It saves costs as it replaces service visits.

The Dynamic Workflow app allows users to make customized workflow for multiple apps. For instance, they can integrate many tasks like scanning, character recognition, distribution of document in one workflow and can be saved as a one-touch shortcut. This time-saving shortcut increases productivity in the office.

Aside from the new Samsung RemoteCall and Dynamic Workflow, the South Korean OEM already has the Mobile Print App which makes wireless printing, file transfers and scanning easier. As per its webpage, it does not require a driver or network configuration, so users enjoy a faster way to work.

Samsung is regularly releasing new widgets and apps for its Smart UX Center, which is among its Internet of Things projects.

The Smart UX Center converges mobile tech for enhanced office experience by allowing users to seamlessly work on devices and complete the office printing ecosystem.

"We're bringing the Smart UX Center experience to users' mobile devices, to suit their BYOD work life in an increasingly mobile world. Printing doesn't have to happen in the office anymore. It can happen anywhere you are," Song said.
