Nicole Kidman Shares Keith Urban's Grief Following 'American Idol' Judge's Father's Death But Actress Misses In-Law's Funeral

Work prevented Nicole Kidman from attending the funeral of Keith Urban's dad who died of cancer earlier this month. But the "Grace of Monaco" actress was there in spirit.

"Nicole is heartbroken for [Keith]," an alleged friend of the actress told Woman's Day. "All she wants to do is hug him and hold him and tell him everything will be okay."

On Thursday morning, Keith Urban arrived at the home of his mother in Brisbane.

"Keith, 48, looked sombre as he prepared for a reunion with mum Marienne following the death of Robert, who passed away earlier this month after battling cancer, before emerging from the house sometime later," Daily Mail said.

The report added, "Sporting a printed orange T-shirt and jeans, Keith shielded his eyes behind a pair of heavily tinted sunglasses as he made his way towards a Brisbane bound connecting flight."

Nicole Kidman couldn't attend the funeral of Keith Urban's dad since she's still in Broadway performing in the play "Photograph 51."

"American Idol" judge Keith Urban issued a statement in light of his dad's death.

"I've been deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support that [Nicole Kidman] and I, and our family, have received since my Dad's passing on Saturday night," he said. "His long battle with cancer is now over and he is finally at peace. My dad's love of country music and America set me on my life's journey, and shaped so much of who I am today. Thank you to everyone who has kept us all in your thoughts and prayers.

According to Closer Weekly, while Nicole Kidman couldn't be present for the funeral, she shared her grief with husband Keith Urban, especially since the "American Idol" judge was there for her when her own father died last year.

"They have truly been there for each other through thick and thin," the source claimed. "They have one of the most harmonious relationships in show business."
