‘The Good Wife’ Season 7 Spoilers: Eli’s Confession Trigger Alicia-Jason Romance? Is Cary Gay?
Alicia and Eli might never be the same again after the latter's confession on episode 10. But "The Good Wife" season 7 spoilers reveal that it might push her into giving in to her feelings for Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, EP Robert and Michelle King said the subject of (SPOILER ALERT) the erased voice message of Will Gardner to Alicia back in season one has not been forgotten by the writers.
Eli's confession was prompted by the exit of Courtney.
"But he also feels guilty about his involvement in manipulating Alicia out of happiness again by maneuvering Jason (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) away from her," they said. "He realizes he's doing the same thing now that he did back at the end of the first season. He cares for Alicia now, and wants her to be happy. He confesses in order to relieve his guilt, but also to push Alicia to not give up her chance at happiness."
And the writers will really explore Alicia's relationship with Jason as Jeffrey Dean Morgan will reportedly appear in every episode except one.
Meanwhile, Robert King teased "The Good Wife" season 7 spoilers to TVLine, particularly on Cary's sexuality.
"We liked how Cary was out of step in trying to get in touch with the newest generation coming into the law firm," the showrunner said. "He wanted to belong and he wanted them to feel like they belonged. And of course it's misinterpreted by the young associate as a come-on."
Michael Ausiello gave the context of what Robert King was referring to.
"Remember a few months ago when Cary seemed to doth protest too much when his underling hit on him?" he explained. "Well, EP Robert King reveals that the odd, seemingly out of nowhere exchange was neither a seed being planted for a bigger storyline nor a non sequitur."
