The Microsoft Xbox One backward compatibility is now in action, bringing 16 new games to Xbox One. There is really nothing wrong with having a favorite Xbox One 360 game but only has an  Xbox One console now.

The company announced Thursday 16 games from the old console to the new Xbox One that will hopefully make a great Christmas gift to the semi-retro gamers, a post on IR.net said.

Microsoft Corporation requires gamers own a physical copy or downloaded version of each game before playing with them.

The 16 games are "Braid," "Deus Ex: Human Revolution," "Doritos Crash Course," "Fable III," "Halo: Reach," "Hydro Thunder," "Iron Brigade," "Kane & Lynch 2," "Motocross Madness," "MS.PAC-MAN," "Peggle," "Portal: Still Alive," "Spelunky," "Splosion Man," "Ticket to Ride" and "Zuma's Revenge!"

Microsoft Corporation launched last month Xbox One backward compatibility with more than a hundred titles, allowing Xbox 360 gamers take the games they love to Xbox One and still play with friends as well as take screenshots, record in-game DVR clips or stream games.

According to Major Nelson, since the launch of Xbox One backward compatibility on Nov. 12, fans have been playing the Xbox 360 games on Xbox One, logging more than 9 million hours. The most favorite games gamers spent most of their hours are "Fallout 3," "Gears of War 3," "Just Cause 2," "Assassin's Creed II" and "DiRT 3."

Major Nelson also reminded that all titles on Xbox 360 available through Games with Gold after Nov. 12 are playable on Xbox One, such as the recent "Sacred 3."

Among the 16 titles is "Halo: Reach," fresh from the launch of "Halo 5: Guardians" late October and the kickoff of "Halo World Championship" on Dec. 6. With "Halo: Reach," the Halo universe is expanded more and the title now joins "Halo 5: Guardians," "Halo: The Master Chief Collection" and "Halo: Spartan Assault" on Xbox One.

Major Nelson said they will keep on adding more Xbox One backward compatibility titles as they continue working on publishing partners to expand the library. Those who want their favorite Xbox 360 titles included can vote at Xbox.UserVoice.com.
