Apple Inc. Offers Free Shipping On Dec. 23 To Help Last-Minute Shoppers; Or Customers Can Pick Items Up On Christmas Eve

Apple Inc. makes sure its customers will get their Christmas gifts in time for the holiday, even for the last minute. The iPhone maker offers a free overnight shipping on famous products that customers order on Dec. 23.

Orders must be placed by 2 p.m. on the said date to ensure the arrival of the product by Christmas Eve.

Customers can also place orders before the Apple Inc. stores close on Christmas Eve, for in-store pickup two hours before closing. IR.Net said it is a nice gesture for Apple to those who take their time to decide buying an Apple product as a gift to a loved one. The site also said it is Apple's clear effort to make more sales of its iPads, Apple Watches and iPhones will increase

In the US, most Apple stores close at 9 p.m., so those who have ordered online and want to pick up the item have until 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Apple online stores usually offer free two-day shipping for items in stock. Fortune reckoned, the iPhone maker also offered on Dec. 23, 2014, free next-day shipping.

This offer from Apple Inc. is great for procrastinators or shoppers who wait until Christmas Eve.

It is not clear though how many people will receive Apple products as a holiday gift this year but Fortune said Apple is pushing for the smartwatch as a great holiday gift idea. It starts at $349, which is way affordable than an iPhone or a Mac.

This Christmas holiday, Apple Watch was one of the most-talked about gift but was later surpassed by Samsung TV. However, Apple has other products that could become great gifts as well. There is the battery case for longer iPhone battery life, bigger iPad or the new Apple TV.

Historically, Apple Inc. has the biggest sale on a Christmas quarter. In 2014, it set a record of $18 billion in profit from $74.6 billion sales in the holiday quarter.

The iPhone is still the company's best seller, selling 48 million units in the recent quarter while iPad sales were under 10 million and there were 5.7 million Mac computers sold.
