Actor Jung Suk Won has faced all kinds of publicity this year. He was happy to be in the news because he was marrying singer Baek Ji Young and sad when it was reported that the singer miscarreied their child a few weeks later.

But this time he is making headlines for countering career-damaging rumors that concern a conflict he is having with his agency. The actor asked his agency Forestar Entertainment to let him go. But as it was three years and eight months before his contract expires, the agency refused to do so. As a result, it was rumored that the actor had broken off all communication with his agency. He says that it's not true.

According to his representatives, he is waiting for his agency to reply to a letter he sent them. He hopes to resolve the conflict between them but they must take the next step. He is still waiting for a phone call,

Rumors are also circulating that because of the conflict, the actor either did not show up on the set of his film, "Battle of Yeonpyeong," or that he left the set in the middle of filming.

Both his representatives and the production company say that the delay in filming has nothing to do with the actor, who has always demonstrated the best of intentions.

"Filming is being delayed due to a series of unrelated events such as staff changes," said his representative. "Jung Suk Won was waiting for this to be resolved."

According to a production company representative, filming is currently on hold because more work is needed on the script.

"It makes no sense to say that Jung Suk Won did not show up for filming because we have not even resumed filming yet," said the production company. "Jung Suk Won has always done his best when filming so rumors that he did not show up are completely untrue. We hope he will resolve his issues with his agency in a peaceful way."

The agency has asked Corea Entertainment Management Association (CEMA) to mediate between the two.

The actor has appeared in several films before this one, most recently "R2B: Return to Base" and "Secrets, Objects." He is best known for his drama appearances, which include playing Choi Joon Hyuk in "Haeundae Lovers, Woo Young Sool in "Rooftop Prince," Kim Je Ha in "Ojakgyo Brothers and Jae Bom in "Midas."
