"Birthday Letter" will revolve around the love story of Kim Moo Gil (Song Geon Hee) and Il Ae( Jo Soo Min), who will expect to portray a long-lasting true love for beyond 60 years.
The special drama will talks about the love story of the two main characters during the Japanese Colonial ruling in Korea, going to their independence in 1945.
The drama will go back and forth the character's life during their first meeting where they fall in love with each other, how they make sacrifices and eventually got broken apart. They will then see each other after some time but will again lose each other due to the atomic bombing in Hiroshima.
After many years, Moo Gil will receive a letter from his first love Il Ae.
Furthermore, a lot of interesting scenes are expected from the special drama such as people will get to see the life on how the Japanese colonies exited from Korea and how Korea acquired its liberty.
The drama will also feature the love of a brother to his siblings, where Moo Gil sacrificed and risks his life taking charge for his sick brother where he experiences living a hard life to Hiroshima.
"Birthday Letter" also is set to see the pain of loving someone during the War. The main characters will reveal the pain of making a promise, having a friend by your side, developing feelings, making hard decisions, and letting go, the process where everyone will relate to. This story will be going to be part of the tear-jerker story before the year ends.
Also, the drama will reveal the love of a granddaughter for her grandfather, who will be the bridge to reconnect the man and his unforgettable first love. This drama will make the fans and viewers appreciate the kind of life we are experiencing right now, as well as to look back on the pure love story during those times.
Anticipate the upcoming KBS Special Project "Birthday Letter" that will be aired in a two-part episode on Wednesday night September 11 and 12 respectively.
