During the newly released clip of the drama, it shows the three main actors that were asked to describe the "Tale of Nok-Du' in just five Korean syllables. When it begins, Jang Dong Yoon chose "lawless historical drama." He wittily stated, "I can't give spoilers but if you watch the drama you will understand why." Then he added right after, "In my memory, I believe this is the first drama in which a male character spends an extended amount of time disguised as a woman in a historical setting. I think that is a big point to look out for."
Moreover, Kim So Hyun used "sweet afternoon nap" because for her description, "Tale of Nok-Du is like a pretty fairy tale. I think this drama is like a nice dream you have while taking an afternoon nap." She also emphasized the diversity and distinct characters that seem like they jumped right out of the original webtoon as a charm of the drama.
Finally, it is Kang Tae Oh's turn who plays the character as a secretive Cha Yul Mu that described the drama as "a universal remedy" and he elaborated, "If you feel tired or lonely, this drama will be like a medicine to make you feel better."
He further compared the individuality of each of the characters to its various colors of the beautiful hanbok worn in the drama series and said that the viewers who will watch can anticipate the unique chemistry between the cast.
In addition, the new stills featuring Jang Dong Yoon looks charismatic as a man who dreams of becoming as the greatest general of Joseon. On the next pair of his photo shows his adorable side with his female handbook with his round eyes and flushed cheeks.
The producers said, "Jang Dong Yoon has exceeded our expectations with his acting of a difficult character."
