It seems like eternity waiting for the much-anticipated fantasy drama, SBS 'The King: Eternal Monarch'. It's currently making waves on various social media platforms because of the lineup of actors who are headlining it, with main leads Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun.

This will mark Lee Min Ho's first project after fulfilling his military service and 'The Legend of the Blue Sea' in 2017. 'The King: Eternal Monarch' has top-notch actors and actresses on board. It's a fantasy and periodic series wherein two different worlds come together to fight against evil. Two individuals from two different worlds will meet and fall in love.

Lee Min Ho will portray the role of Leo Gon, a good looking and respective monarch in Korea. He comes from the third generation and is full of deep memories about his father's death. He cares for his kingdom and its people.

Then, there's the charming woman who will bring light to the handsome Leo Gon. Portrayed by Kim Go Eun, Jung Tae Eul is from the present day and works as an investigator. Given her profession, she solves crimes and gives justice to the oppressed. She eventually meets Leo Gon and the two make a team who fights the evil.

Leo Gon, however, finds something familiar with the lady. In his world, a woman of the same appearance as Jung Tae Eul, named Luna, suffers from hardship and struggles in life.

Also part of the main cast is Woo Do Hwan who portrays the character of Jo Eun Seob, a cop from the present world), and Jo Young (from the old times). Both the characters are significant in Leo Gon's journey.

In the present day also exists Kang Shin Jae (Kim Kyung Nam). He works as a police officer in the same station as Jung Tae Eul who he has feelings for. In Lee Gon's world, on the other hand, is a young and fierce woman whose eyes are set only on him. Gu Seo Ryung (Jung Eun Chae) believes that power will get her the man she loves.

'The King: Eternal Monarch' will premiere in April 2020. Helmed by Bail Sang-hoon (the man behind the phenomenal dramas 'Descendants of the Sun') and written by Kim Eun-sook (who wrote 'Goblin' and 'Secret Garden'), suffice to say that people are expecting a lot from this series.
