GOT7’s Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee Reveal Challenges They Faced While Filming "When My Love Blooms"

GOT7's Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee shared their wonderful yet a little bit challenging experience while shooting their upcoming drama When My Love Blooms!

The two actors' characters are each other's first love in the drama. They will be playing the role of younger Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Soo as they embark in their college years. Unfortunately, due to yet-to-be-revealed circumstances, they will part ways. Years later, they meet again and are living entirely different lives. Yoo Ji Tae and Lee Bo Young will then play the roles in the present day. 

Yoon Ji-Soo is a contract worker with no job security and also a mother, making her life not easy. Meanwhile, Han Jae-Hyun will become a determined wealthy businessman, who is handsome and with a strong desire to have wealth and honor, opposite from what he was in college when he participated in the student movement. Their meeting would eventually ignite old flames, giving themselves a second chance of a better life. Just like how the old saying goes, love is sweeter the second time around.

The characters of GOT7's Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee will be from the 1990s. Likewise, the drama series will bring back the experience of fresh and young love affair and the overwhelming feeling of doing the entire first with your first love.

Jinyoung, who was born in 1994, recalled that he had a hard time understanding what the situation was like back in the '90s. Initially, playing the character gave him a hard time, but eventually, he got the hang of it and soon discovered another method on how to deal with the character through his experiences.

According to him, he has the same sentiment from the people back then about the manner people long for change and the manner people love. He added that he was able to approach his character from that outlook since those feelings were similar, making it easy for him to play the role.

Jeon So Nee has the same sentiment. She recalled that she focused on portraying the role through her physical appearance at first. But she slowly started to give more importance to the changes in Ji Soo's behavior and emotions.

Jeon So Nee was able to engage her character as Ji Soo when she started reflecting on Ji Soo's emotions, especially her personal experience as a student who just started her college life with all the hustle and bustle of college life has to offer.

Jeon So Nee needs to put into consideration the time period in which the drama is set. And luckily, the details of the set, especially the props, brought life to the setting, which helped her with the character's emotions.

Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee as a romantic couple will surely make your heart flutter. Though it may be short, you'll surely need to make this drama a must-watch.

When My Love Blooms is directed by veteran Director Son Jung-Hyun and is set to premiere on April 25 with English subtitles on Viki.
