Jun Ji Hyun a South Korean actress, explained the reason why she has never been on social media. She said that she has been afraid of making mistakes and has never been comfortable disclosing herself to the public, so she has never been on social media throughout her career.

Koreaboo reported that during a recent interview promoting her upcoming film Colony, the veteran actress shared candid thoughts about her decision to avoid social media despite the growing trend of celebrities launching personal YouTube channels and Instagram accounts.
Jun, who debuted as a model in 1997 and is set to celebrate her 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry next year, explained that she has never felt comfortable publicly exposing her personal life.
"It's because I'm afraid I might make a mistake. It's just one of the simple reasons," Jun said. "Maybe it's because I've been active since I was young, I'm not used to showing myself, and I don't feel comfortable doing so," per spotvnews.
The actress also acknowledged how celebrity culture has evolved in recent years, with many entertainers becoming more open and accessible to fans through social media content. she continued by reflecting on how others may be more accustomed to online self-expression.

"I know that times have changed, and my friends might be used to it, but I don't feel comfortable. I don't think there is a need to be comfortable," she said. "There are friends who are fine showing that side, but there are those who aren't."
When asked whether she had ever considered starting a YouTube channel like many fellow celebrities, Jun admitted she lacks the confidence to do so and would rather focus on her strengths as an actress.
"I lack confidence. I just want to keep doing what I'm good at," she said. Jun also spoke honestly about the pressure she feels when discussing her private life during public appearances and interviews.
"To be honest, I am not comfortable talking about myself," she explained. "People might be curious, as it's been a long time since I've appeared on shows, and I haven't had a lot of chances to share my story. But I am here to promote my work, so I don't think it's right to put the focus on me."
Meanwhile, her new movie, Colony, follows a group of isolated survivors trapped inside a building sealed off by a mysterious infection. The film marks another major screen project for Jun as she continues her decades-long acting career.
