"The King: Eternal Monarch" will not broadcast on May 29 and will continue the next episode on May 30 at 10:00 p.m. KST.

The SBS management decided that they will broadcast the 2011 film "Contagion" instead of "The King: Eternal Monarch" episode.

According to the source, "Through "Contagion," we will examine how the human race deals with the viruses and raise awareness of COVID-19. A crisis is on the rise once more as the number of newly confirmed COVID-19 patients has soared two days in a row, reaching more than 70 patients in a day for the first time in nearly two months".

It has been reported as South Korea experienced a resurgence in several new cases infected by the virus. The government made tight restrictions in the latest updates as they put the capital Seoul restricted lockdown. The spike of an increased number of infections with new cases resulted in Museums, parks, and galleries closed for two weeks. The lockdown will be in place for the metropolitan area until June 14.

The movie "Contagion" is an American thriller that tackles a deadly virus. That is discovered that causes a pandemic across the globe. The film was released in 2011, which carries a similar story of what the world encounters at present. It depicts the infectious diseases and the struggle of experts to find a cure and stop it from spreading.

On the other hand, SBS "The King: Eternal Monarch" completed all the scenes. The final four episodes all wrapped in filming, which is ready for the finale as scheduled.

Hwa & Dam Pictures are responsible for the productions. They released a statement last May 29, saying, "Filming for the "The King: Eternal Monarch, which started in October of 2019 and went on for more than eight months has been completed on May 28. We want to express our gratitude to the actors and the crew members who did their best for the new and different parallel universe fantasy romance, "The King: Eternal Monarch," one more time for their toil. The drama's unpredictable and endlessly abundant plot will continue to unravel in the last four episodes. Stay tuned until the end."

There have been mixed reactions and emotions of how the drama series unfolded for the past weeks, but this did not affect Lee Min Ho's supporters to reach out and make him happy in his comeback drama after three years. Actors Jung Il Woo sent him a pizza truck, while Lee Jung Jae sent a coffee truck on the set.

The drama will air its finale on June 12. The episode this week will broadcast on May 30, and the following episodes next week will be on June 5 and 6. Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun completed their final shoots on May 28.
