WATCH: New JTBC Crime Drama "Model Detective" Unveils Thrilling 1st Teaser

On June 1, JTBC released the first teaser of the upcoming crime drama "Model Detective, starring Son Hyun Joo, Jang Seung Jo, and Lee Elijah.

"Model Detective" is an investigative drama that tells a story about the detectives who would do anything to know the truth. They are the kind of detectives who embody real-world detectives who will not give up until they find the offender and finish their quest.

The drama will be a crime investigation full of action and excitement. Son Hyun Joo will be portraying the character of Gang Do Chang, who is a detective for 18 years. Gang Do Chang holds a callous personality yet is also very loyal to his comrades, especially when it comes to investigating. His ways of investigating are based on experience and personal contacts instead of scientific reasoning and behavioral sciences.

Jang Seung Jo will play the role of Oh Ji Hyuk, a top elite detective for nine years. He is not comfortable with being open and sharing his feelings due to something that happened to him when he was young. He does not care about money nor power even though he has acquired wealth given to him by his late uncle.

Lee Elijah will be playing the character of Jin Seo Kyung, who has been working as a reporter for five years. She has been working in Jeonghan Daily is one of the major newspapers in Gyeonggi Province. Because of her tough personality, she is often misunderstood by a lot of people. However, she does not let her external surroundings define her decisions and pushes her ideas with certainty.

The teaser starts with a man asking a question about what is the best efficient way of covering up a case-and answering it by saying that it is by getting rid of the victim forever. It continues by showing a watch drop to the ground and a man dragging a dead body of a woman out of a car.

One day, a call is received by Gang Do Chang admitting that he kidnapped and killed a girl. Gang Do Chang promises unto himself to figure out what is behind this and solve this case while also saying that if he keeps silent, there will be no one else to talk to.

He then asks angrily if he does not feel sorry for the dead, or does he not have any conscience. The teaser also includes introducing three characters. Oh Ji Hyuk goes after criminals while a voice-over says something about not having the time and do not waste emotions on useless things. Oh Ji Hyuk's cousin Oh Jong Tae who is played by Oh Jung Se, looks at Oh Ji Hyuk with a distrust expression. Reporter JIn Seo Kyung stares into a distance with a problematic expression.
