Hong Jin Gi to Showcase Acting Skills As Part of The Cast of JTBC's “Undercover”
The upcoming JTBC action-drama, titled "Undercover," is helmed by director Song Hyun Wook and penned by screenwriters Baek Cheol Hyun, Song Ja Hoon, Jung Hye Eun.
"Undercover" will tell the story of Han Jung Hyun, portrayed by Ji Jin Hee, who works as a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent. He finished his degree at the police university, and was chosen by the NIS as part of their asset. Han Jung Hyun was given a mission to work on a top secret case where he met Choi Yeon Soo, played by Kim Hyun Joo. And since he is still working as an undercover, he uses a different name or an alias to introduce himself to Choi Yeon Soo, then he eventually fell in love and married her.
On the other hand, Choi Yeon Soo's job is a civil rights lawyer, who pursues justice and truth. Because of her hard work, Choi Yeon Soo was promoted for the position as Chief of the Civil Servant Corruption Investigation Unit, and through this, her husband's real identity was involved in a situation that they can no longer control.
Meanwhile, Hong Jin Gi will portray the role as the younger version of Kang Chung Mo (Lee Seung Jun) from the Blue House. He will be Choi Yeon Soo's friend and advisor and he is expected to show a strong personality from the start of the drama.
Hong Jin Gi expressed to his fans and viewers that it is an honor for him to be able to work with many of his seniors as well as fellow actors. At the start of the drama's production, he felt a bit nervous but promised to do his best to showcase the character as a person with justice.
In the MBC television series "Welcome 2 Life," which concluded last year, Hong Jin Gi proved his versatility in acting by portraying dual characters in two different universes. As of press time, his fans are very curious on how he will showcase his talent in "Undercover."
Expectations of this drama have been increased upon hearing the news that actor Hong Jin Gi is part of its cast. JTBC's "Undercover" is scheduled to broadcast in the first half of 2021.
