MBC to Release Youth Documentary About "Coffee Prince" + Lead Actors to Reunite After 13 Years

After 13 years, the protagonist characters of the hit drama "Coffee Prince" will meet once again!

According to News1, MBC is preparing a documentary production to meet the mainstays of "Coffee Prince" since its broadcast in 2007.

The documentary project is scheduled to launch by September and viewers will have the chance to meet the stars. The documentary concept will be done in an interview setting, as they will about the challenging life of the youth in present times. It will give the chance of the "Coffee Prince" star alumni to share their thoughts as well.

The show was aired on MBC in 2007 with 17 episodes and became a worldwide hit not only in South Korea but was even adapted in other countries as well. It gained a top hit audience rating of 27.8 percent according to Nielsen Korea.

The story of a female acted as a man in front of her manager who also pretended to be a gay in order to escape some issues with his family. Go Eun Chan Is the 24-year-old tomboy who works hard as the breadwinner of the family. She was always seen as a guy since she wears men's clothes. The manager of the cafe is Choi Han Gyul who pretends to be a gay and Eun Chan's lover. They find love and heal wounds after working together and face the challenges they encounter.

Through this drama, all the actors became popular, such as Goo Yoo who now become one of the top Korean actors in the industry. Yoon Eun Hye reached fame in many projects from a singer to being an actress though at present she seldom appears on screen. Lee Sun Kyun, Shae Jung Ahn, and Kim Dong Wook become youth stars as well.

There have been many good reviews of the drama even after 13 years. It deals with the stories of the youth and the reality that we may look forward to every summer. 

"Coffee Prince" tells the dramatic tension about budding love and the fear of telling the truth, the questions whether love knows gender and forgiveness. The director, writer, and the actors collaborated to create an amazing chemistry, delivered through its storyline.

MBC expected that the show will have a great interest by the public and the fans of the actors. It will air sometime in September.
