New tvN Drama 'Navillera' Confirms Cast of Characters
Brand new tvN Drama 'Navillera' confirmed to star actors Park In Hwan, Song Kang, Na Moon Hee, and Hong Seung Hee!
"Navillera" is one more webtoon of 2020 to be adapted into a drama and is slated to premier next year. The webtoon is penned by HUN and JiMin and was published from July 2016 to October 2017.This drama will tell the story of an elderly man Duk Chool who starts learning ballet at the age of 70, and a young ballerino named Chae Rok who goes astray while trying to reach his dreams. Both characters will build a friendship through ballet.
This drama will feature a story of growth about people who goes on a journey to achieve their dreams because they believe that you only live once.
The said webtoon had received a high rating of 9.9 stars out of 10 and was even recommended by a member of the famous Kpop group BTS. "Navillera" will be helmed by director Han Dong Hwa who also handled OCN's "Squad 38," "Bad Guys 2," and tvN's "Miss Lee". The drama will be penned by scriptwriter Lee Eun Mi who wrote OCN's "Tunnel."
Veteran actor Park In Hwan will star as the titular Duk Chool, a the retired mailman who desires of becoming a ballerino despite his old age. He decided to learn ballet to fulfill the lifelong desire of his heart. The actor is recognized for his amazing acting skills in the films "E.X.I.T" and "Miss Granny" as well as the drama "Liver or Die."
26-year-old actor Song Kang will take on the role of Chae Rok who began learning ballet late but holds an exceptional talent in this field. Chae Rok has always been focused on soccer. However, things began to change when he coincidentally witnessed a ballet performance that he felt something he can't describe with any words. Duk Chool's character will turn things around in Chae Rok's life.
South Korean actress Na Moon Hee on the other hand, is set to portray the character of Hae Nam, the loving wife of Duk Chool. She is a caring mother who takes care of her kids and only desired to live life peacefully, but one day Duk Chool suddenly tells her that he wants to pursue ballet. Na Moon Hee and Park In Hwan have already starred together in "Miss Granny."
Lastly, playing the role of Eun Ho, Duk Chool's granddaughter is Hong Seung Hee. Her life is all planned out by her father, but after crossing paths with Chae Rok (Song Kang) she starts to live her life all over again trying to discover her own happiness and dreams.
'Navillera' production team expressed that the drama's special cast consists of stars Park In Hwan and Na Moon Hee, who are considered as veteran acting legends. They will be joined by trendy actors Song Kang and Hong Seung and finally the main cast is now complete. They added asking everyone to please watch out for the miracle of ballet that will turn on a green light between the 70-year-old elderly man who is in the last chapters of his life and the 23-year-old youth who is just entering the stage of taking on the challenges in life.
