Jang Dong Yoon to Take a Break from Filming His Drama ‘Joseon Exorcist’ for Fast Recovery
On Dec 30, one of the production members of SBS drama "Joseon Exorcist" released an update about Jang Dong Yoon's condition after being involved in an accident while on set.
Previously, on Dec 29, it has been reported that Jang Dong Yoon was involved in a horse riding accident and injured his elbow while filming. Due to the incident, the shooting for the day was postponed. After it was announced to the public, fans and supporters of Jang Dong Yoon shared their warm messages for his swift recovery.
Earlier today (Dec 30) the 28-year-old actor underwent a thorough examination to check his condition, and according to SBS, Jang Dong Yoon has suffered mostly bruises and an external injury on his elbow. It has been advised for him to take some rest and be fully recovered before returning to work and the filming schedule for the drama was halted due to what had happened.
"Joseon Exorcist" is a fantasy-historical drama that tells the story of the evil spirits who come back to life after being killed by the royal family. Jang Dong Yoon is one of the main cast and will be playing the role of Prince Chungnyeong, who is smart and is only interested in learning academics. As the story begins to unfold, he will experience problems caused by the demonic spirits. And as the prince of their kingdom, he is ready to fight against the evils just to protect his people.
Joining him in the drama are actors Kam Woo Sung, who will be taking the role of King Taejong, a cool-headed but powerful king. He is a proud son who helped his father build the Joseon dynasty. On the other hand, he is living in guilt from killing so many people during the founding of Joseon. His two sons are both princes in the palace, Prince Chungnyeong and Crown Prince Yangnyeong.
Park Sung Hoon will be playing the role of Crown Prince Yangnyeong who has an overflowing confidence. He is living with chronic anxiety over whether he will be appreciated by his father King Taejong. He tries to prove himself, but it seems like it has never been recognized by the king.
Meanwhile, King Taejong has a strong will to have his first son Yangnyeong to become the next king. Because of that desire, greed consumes Crown Prince Yangnyeong to enter into a contact with the evil spirit.
This upcoming drama is finally anticipated by the viewers. It is originally scheduled to air in the first half of 2021, but might have some changes due to the incident.
