The upcoming medical drama follows the unique story of five best friends portrayed by Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung, and Jeon Mi Do and their journey at Yulje Medical Center.
What to Expect from "Hospital Playlist 2," According to Director Shin Won Ho
In a new report cited by a South Korean publication, PD Shin Won Ho, who also helmed the first season as well as "Prison Playbook" shares what to expect in the soon to be released drama.
During the interview, he mentioned three keywords that suggest the focus of "Hospital Playlist 2" which includes sympathy, emotion and rhythm.
Director Shin Won Ho wants the audience to feel sympathy as the drama illustrates the extraordinary lives of the characters that would somehow translate to the viewer's daily lives.
"What everyone who makes a story wants is empathy. I think that the goal is achieved just by sympathizing with us," the PD explained.
In addition, the "Hospital Playlist 2" director pointed out that the drama wants to capture the emotion of the viewers and "maintain the warmth and atmosphere" that viewers expect.
The tvN became a huge success for captivating the viewer's attention with its heartwarming storyline that can make the fans cry and laugh at the same time.
PD Shin Won Ho also noted that the second season will have delve into the "emotion" and "atmosphere" that the previous season have; however, the director also promises a surprising twist that would cover "deeper story and relationship" between each character.
"Season 2 will keep the warm emotion but will draw a deeper story and relationship," raising expectations for Season 2."
Lastly, "Hospital Playlist 2" director shared that the upcoming season will have the same rhythm as season 1.
Moreover, he ensured that the new season will not only focus on the lead stars and the departments but also depict the story of the patients and their families.
He concluded by inviting the viewers to watch the premiere of the second season adding "We are making it deeper than the desire to become more new overall, so please look forward to it."

The brand new season is slated to premiere on June 17 every Thursday and is set to air on tvN and on streaming platform, Netflix.
Aside from the lead stars, fans would get to see Shin Hyun Bin, Ahn Eun Jin, Kwak Sun Young and the adorable Kim Jun who will reprise their roles.

During the script reading, the "Hospital Playlist 2" cast was asked regarding their thoughts about the upcoming season.
Kim Dae Myung, who plays the dotting son Yang Suk Hyung, says that he is "really happy" to see familiar faces.
"Another happy moment has come to me again," he mentioned.
As for Jung Kyung Ho, who portrays the strict doctor Kim Jun Wan, he tease fans by mentioning that he believes that the forthcoming season has better storyline than season 1
"I also think viewers will be able to watch more comfortably than season 1 and be touched more."
