Even though actors Lee Bo Young and Ji Sung married in September, they have not yet had time for a honeymoon. She has been busy with volunteer work but that was not the only reason for the delay in their honeymoon plans.

"It wasn't like that," said Lee Bo Young, who recently starred in the hit drama "I Hear Your Voice."

While she was happy to volunteer her time for a documentary, she says it was Ji Sung's career that actually came first.

"Our honeymoon was delayed because of Ji Sung's drama," she said. "We will go on our honeymoon next March."

Ji Sung stars as Jo Min Hyuk, the troubled heir in the top-rated drama "Secrets." While the timing of the drama did interfere with their honeymoon trip, he was smart to take that role, as the series is a hit.

Lee Bo Young is pleased her husband took the part but she is also pleased to have participated in the documentary "KBS 2013 Road for Hope" show. What she saw during the filming of that documentary helped her to realize how much she had to be grateful for. She was also happy to make a difference by sharing what she saw.

As well as Lee Bo Young, the documentary starred TVXQ's Jung Yunho, actor Park Sang Won and singer and actor Kim Hyun Woo. In subsequent episodes of the drama, the stars travel to five African countries-Chad, Ghana, Republic of the Congo, Mali and Uganda. There the cast helps the people who are suffering from poverty and poor living conditions. The celebrities' participation inspires viewers to contribute.

Lee Bo Young traveled to the Congo and was horrified by what she witnessed. She shared some of her experiences at a recent press conference for the documentary.

"Endless civil wars have encouraged violence, including sexual crimes," said Lee Bo Young. "So many women there have been abused and raped. These sexual crimes target the weak and helpless."

What she saw there made her grateful for what she had but it also made her cry.

"When I first arrived there, I saw so much destruction that it did not seem real. I felt as if I was on a movie set," she said. "The more I talked to people the more I realized how grateful I was not to have been born there. It was selfish thinking."

When she spoke about her experience she could not help but cry.

Her episode is the first in the series. It will air on Nov. 16.
