‘Penthouse 3’ Episode 5 Slightly Dips in Viewership Rating + Kim So Yeon is Behind Eugene’s Shocking Death

The top-rating K-drama "Penthouse 3" gave fans another round of surprising twists and turns featuring Eugene, Kim So Yeon, Lee Ji Ah, Uhm Ki Joon, and more.

With a series of shocking revelations, the SBS drama still reigns as the most-watched Friday program to air on any channel; unfortunately, its viewership slightly decreased.

According to Nielsen Korea, "Penthouse 3" viewership rating seems to have declined a little, garnering an average nationwide rating of 16.5 percent for its recent episode.

"Penthouse 3" Episode 5 Highlights: Uhm Ki Joon Frames Yoo Dong Pil for Killing Eugene

The plot thickens every episode as the SBS Friday drama uncovered the truth behind each character.

"Penthouse 3" episode 5 began with an intense scene between Joo Dan Tae (Uhm Ki Joon) Oh Yoon Hee (Eugene), and Yoo Dong Pil (Park Ho San.)

After pushing Yoon Hee from the cliff by accelerating his car, Joo Dan Tae decides to frame Dong Pil with her death.

It came after the vicious chairman discovered that he was stabbing him and planning to expose his dark secret.

At Hera Palace's famous fountain, he found himself discovering Ohh Yoon Hee's dead body.

Dong Pill was cornered by Dan Tae's men and insisted that he killed Eugene. Of course, this surprised him, and questioned the chairman if he is behind the murder.

Being the evil villain that he is, he planned to frame the death of Yoon Hee and even threatened him to kill his wife, Kang Ma Ri (Shin Eun Kyung), and beloved daughter Yoo Je Ni (Jin Ji Hee.)

Knowing his capability, he asked forgiveness and kneel upon the chairman for betraying him. In addition, he promised to be loyal to him from that day on.

Interestingly, Joo Da Tae accepted his apology, but in one condition, he instructed Dong Pil to dispose of the body of Yoon Hee on the river, to which he did even if it was against his will.

Oh Yoon Hee Became the Prime Suspect on Ha Eun Byul's Kidnap

"Penthouse 3" episode 5 illustrates how the innocent Yoon Hee turned from being a victim to becoming a suspect in just an instant.

Shim Su Ryeon arrives at the location with Cheon Seo Jin (Kim So Yeon), embracing the unconscious Ha Eun Byul (Choi Ye Bin) near the cliff's edge.

She kept asking Cheon Seo Jin if she found Yoon Hee, but she insisted that only his daughter was at the top of the cliff.

While Shim Su Ryeon was at the crime scene, Yoon Hee's daughter Bae Ro Na (Kim Hyun Soo), alongside Joo Seok Hoon (Kim Young Dae), arrived and felt devastated after finding out that her mother was missing.

Meanwhile, the incident was all over the news and claims that the doting mother was the person behind Ha Eun Byul's kidnap.

Several media outlets pointed out that she is obsessed with power and will do anything for her daughter, even if it means killing someone.

Jin Bun Hong Falls into Joo Dan Tae's Hands

In episode 4, Jin Bun Hong (Ahn Yun Hong) went straight to Joo Dan Tae's villa in Gimpo to hide Eun Byul; unfortunately, he sees that she is becoming a burden, which p[romted him to hold him captive.

In a dark room, Ms. Jin, who was unconscious and tied on a chair, was surrounded by Joo Dan Tae's men.

Shortly after, the chairman came with a bucket of water and threw it on her face.

There, he threatens to kill her if she will not follow his instructions; this includes pinning the crime to Yoon Hee and exposing this to the media.

In a press conference, Ms. Jin revealed that it was Yoon Hee who abducted Eun Byul because she wanted to get revenge for what she did to Bae Ro Na.

Cheon Seo Jin Killed Oh Yoon Hee

"Penthouse 3" episode 5 featured the truth behind Oh Yoon Hee's shocking death.

In the last scene, Cheon Seo Jin arrived to save her still unconscious daughter, who was at the back of the driver's seat.

Oh Yoon Hee instructed her to get Eun Byul out of the car and save her first.

After putting her daughter in a safe place, Cheon Seo Jin recalled her and Yoon Hee's dark past starting from their days as music students in Cheong-Ah Arts School.

She became the old Cheon Seo Jin who was driven by revenge. With an intense look on her face, she told her, "Oh Yoon Hee, our bad relationship ends like this. Goodbye," which prompted her to push the car, leaving Yoon Hee breaking her leg and falling off the cliff.
