‘Melancholia’ Completes Cast Lineup + ‘Beyond Evil’ Star Choi Dae Hoon, Jang Hyun Sung and More Joins Lead Stars Lee Do Hyun and Im Soo Jung
Upcoming K-drama "Melancholia" introduced its lineup of powerhouse cast who will be joining lead stars Lee Do Hyun and Im Soo Jung.
In a report cited by a local outlet, tvN announced that the forthcoming drama had completed its official cast members.
"Melancholia" Welcomes Roster of Talented Cast Members
In a statement, the broadcasting network tvN unveiled the official "Melancholia" cast, including a slew of veteran actors.
"The lineup has been completed with the joining of Jin Kyung, Choi Dae Hoon, Jang Hyun Sung, Byun Jung Soo, Kim Ho Jin, Baek Ji Won, and Woo DaBi," a representative from the drama revealed.
The update came weeks after the upcoming drama confirmed its lead stars.
Earlier this month, tvN announced that the "Search: WWW" star and the 26-year-old heartthrob would appear as the main characters.

"Melancholia" is helmed by renowned director Kim Sang Hyub who worked with "Extraordinary You" and the hit drama "True Beauty." He is joined by veteran screenwriter Kim Ji Woon, whose famous works include "Hyde, Jekyll, Me," "Doctor John," and "Cheongdam-dong Alice."
The tvN drama is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2021.

"Melancholia" follows a unique story between a math teacher and a genius math student, set in a corrupt private high school.
The 42-year-old actress will take on the role of the high school math teacher Ji Yoon Soo, who is extremely passionate about teaching, especially math.
Meanwhile, Lee Do Hyun is set to portray Baek Seung Yoo, the genius high school student who enjoys taking photos during his spare time.
Despite his intelligence and being considered a math wizard, he dropped out of school at age 12.
On the other hand, Kim Ho Jin and Baek Ji Won will act as Lee Do Hyun's onscreen parents, Baek Min Sik and Min Hee Seung.
In the drama, the "Everybody Say Kungdari" star is a skilled psychiatrist whose only pride is being a father to a genius son.
Joining the cast is the "Beyond Evil" star as Ryu Seong Jae, an education office policy adviser and the fiance of Ji Yoon Soo.
Award-winning actress Jin Kyung is one of Aseong Academy's influential figures and the high school department's teaching director. Amid her status in the prestigious academy, she will be carrying out all sorts of preferential corruption under her name.
Lastly, rookie actress Woo Da Bi will take on the role of Aseong Academy's top student named Seong Ye Rin
She is also the daughter of Jang Hyun Sung, who plays the National Assembly member named Seong Min Joon, while actress Byun Jung Soo is set to play the top actress Yoo Hye Mi.
With its lineup of cast members, there's no denying that the upcoming K-drama "Melancholia" will indeed create a major buzz online once it officially premieres.
