Producer of ‘Itaewon Class’ and ‘Go Back Couple’ to Work on a New Webtoon-Based Drama ‘MidSummer’
Jaedam Media, a cartoon company that produced JTBC's "Itaewon Class," KBS' "Go Back Couple" and the recent romance-comedy series "My Roommate is a Gumiho" will also be in charge of the upcoming drama "MidSummer."
According to Jaedam Media, they already recently completed a contract with "Content Writing" and "221b" for the drama production.
Webtoon MidSummer Synopsis
"MidSummer" is based on a webtoon that tells the life story of a divorced woman, Seo Ha. She runs a coffee shop and unexpectedly develops feelings for Ji Hoo, a 20-year-old part-timer.
Seo Ha's lonely life starts to change as she approaches Ji Hoo. She has never been into guys after her divorced and meeting Ji Hoo somehow brings her joy. Seo Ha's blossoming feelings for Ji Hoo will become the main focus of the drama.
It is a full-fledged adult romance series that depicts the realistic romance relationship of adults. Since the story is quite popular in Korea. After the announcement of making the webtoon into a drama, netizens and avid readers of "MidSummer" showed their support for the project.

MidSummer is Popular Among Readers Who are in Their 20s and 30s

Up until now, "MidSummer" (Hajijeom) has become a killer content among the young-adults as it is available on multiple online platforms, such as Bom Toon, Lezhin Comics, and Naver Series.
Plus, it is also being serviced on various foreign platforms, such as Lezhin US and Japan's Piccoma. This shows that the webtoon story is consistently attracting more adult readers internationally.
As of now, there are no confirmed actors yet who will be playing the lead characters of Seo Ha and Ji Hoo.
