The upcoming webtoon-based K-drama "Pumpkin Time" is directed by Kang Min Gu, the man behind the 2014 comedy series "Employment War" and "The Goddess of Revenge."

Following the confirmation of the cast, the new drama is slated to debut in the second half of 2021 and is expected to be released on various OTT platforms.

"Pumpkin Time" reportedly received high ratings in KakaoPage and has attracted the readers' attention with its unique and interesting story that highlights love and friendship.

It follows the story of long-time best friends Kang Tae Joo and Shin Hae Won, who recently reconnected after moving out of South Korea.

After years of no communication, Tae Joo decides to return to his hometown to look for Hae Won. However, he was stunned to know that his male best friend was now a female high school student.

This raises the question of whether he would continue his friendship despite the transformation of Shin Hae Won.

The 23-year-old actor made his acting debut in 2021 after appearing in the drama "Be My Boyfriend."

Fortunately, his performance in Netflix's "So Not Worth It" received an overwhelming response and love from the viewers.

In the K-sitcom, he played the business student, Jamie, who came from a wealthy family and moved to South Korea to study.

He instantly became the campus crush despite his aloof and shy personality.

Interestingly, he slowly came out of his shell when he met Se Wan, a teaching assistant who is in charge of managing the university dorm.

In his previous interview with YTN News, the rookie actor recalled the time where he got the confirmation to star in a lead role.

He got honest and shared that he had doubts playing the main character and would struggle to portray some emotions.

Interestingly, some of his co-stars gave him a trick and mentioned: "keep swearing on the inside."

"If you swear, anger will come out. So I swore to myself a lot while filming and created anger," he revealed.

Aside from Shin Hyun Seung "So Not Worth It" cast includes GOT7's Youngjae, (G) I-DLE's Minnie, Park Se Wan, and more.
