Healing Kdrama

Due to its calming and healing vibe, viewers instantly fell in love with Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah's K-drama "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha."

Although the K-drama fandom loved the idea of breaking people's hearts with tragic love stories and keeping fans at the edge of their seats with thrilling revenge drama, the tvN series taught the fans to take it easy, learn to live presently and fully enjoy the gift of every moment.

As everyone seems to be missing the fan-favorite series, let's revisit its lessons about life, love, and everything else in between.

1. Success and wealth are not the only basis of a happy life.

When Yoon Hye Jin (Shin Min Ah) moved to the small seaside village of Gongjin, she left her lavish lifestyle in Seoul and witnessed the simple way of living in the neighborhood. Hong Du Shik (Kim Seon Ho) taught the dentist that happiness is not always about career, money and possessions.

The Gongjin native left Yoon Hye Jin a striking message that would, later on, change her perspective in life.

"Money and success are not the only things of value in life," he said.

Another "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" life lesson from Mr. Hong has important values such as happiness, world peace, self-satisfaction, and love.

2. Surround yourself with happy and supportive people.

As the saying goes, "You become what you feed your mind."

The second "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" life lesson that the viewers can live by is surrounding yourself with happy thoughts and happy people.

Despite growing up as an orphan after losing both his parents, Hong Du Shik has a family in the village of Gongjin.

Everyone in the small neighborhood helped each other, especially Mr. Hong, who never hesitated to help each and everyone; this is because he wants to pay back the love he received after going through a hard time.

3. Living life to the fullest

In one episode, Yoon Hye Jin confessed that she is one of those people who "plan every second of their lives." However, Hong Du Shik reminded her that every person has a different timeline in life and one must be open and try to understand others.

"Life isn't so fair for all of us. Some spend their whole lives on unpaved roads, while some run at full speed only to reach the edge of a cliff," he said.

3. The silent battles

The supporting characters in "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" harbor their own silent battle.

There's the lovable I-Jun, who usually sports his adorable smile but was devastated about his parent's separation.

Then, there's Yoon Hye Jin who built walls around her to shield herself from getting hurt. It turns out, she lost her mother due to terminal illness when she was a child, while her father remarried a few years later, leaving her alone. She pegged away to get to where is now.

4. The true meaning of being a good parent

If there's one thing that Yoon Hye Jin values, that is self-love and physical well-being. This is due to what her parents instilled in her when she was young.

In one of the episodes, she opens the mind of the viewers with a quote that says, "Do you know what it means to be a good parent? That is maintaining their health, so they don't need treatment and they can save their children's money."
