Asia Artist Awards 2021 Update: ‘Squid Game’ Star Jung Ho Yeon in Tight Race with Han So Hee + Kim Seon Ho Remains Unbeatable in Popularity Voting
South Korea's rising stars Jung Ho Yeon, Han So Hee, and Kim Seon Ho lead the popularity voting for Asia Artist Awards 2021.
The annual ceremony, which first began in 2016, recognizes the contribution and achievement of various performers from K-Pop, K-Movie, and K-Drama together with the artists in the Asian regions.
Scheduled on December 2, 2021, at KBS Arena Hall, the highly anticipated awards night is organized by Star News and Star Continent, with former IZ*ONE member Jang Won Young and Super Junior's Leeteuk as hosts.
To recall, this will be the "House Party" singer's sixth straight year to be the ceremony's MC.
Meanwhile, ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo, NU'EST's Minhyun, and Moon Ga Young, Na In Woo confirmed their appearance for the upcoming celebration.
AAA 2021 Popularity Voting Female Actor Category: 'Squid Game' Star Jung Ho Yeon in Head-to-Head Race with Han So Hee
As the annual ceremony nears, fans express their support for their favorite artist through online polls--one of which is popularity voting.
Interestingly, the category is 100 percent based on fan votes meaning the public can dictate which stars will take home the award.
The six categories include Female Idol Group, Male Idol Group, Female Solo Singer, Male Solo Singer, Female Actor, and Male Actor award.
For AAA 2021 popularity voting female actor, newcomer Jung Ho Yeon is leading the race with 28.5 percent as of this writing.
Meanwhile, the second place belongs to "My Name" star Han So Hee, garnering a close figure of 28.1 percent.

Coming in at third place is "The Witch's Diner" star Song Ji Hyo with 13.3 percent, while Jeon Yeo Been, who recently made waves as Hong Cha Young in "Vincenzo," garnered 7.4 percent.
Apart from the said stars, actresses who were also included in the top 10 for AAA 2021 popularity voting female actor category are Shin Min Ah, Moon Ga Young, SNSD's Yoona, Park Bo Young, Kim So Hyun and Song Hye Kyo.

Kim Seon Ho Still at First Place for AAA 2021 Popularity Voting Male Actor
While the female category is in a tight race, the popularity voting for male actor category remains Kim Seon Ho.
Since the online poll started on October 22, the "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" star remains unbeatable in the top spot.
Based on the current poll, the South Korean heartthrob earned 38.2 percent while ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo has 30.3 percent.
For almost a week, the 35-year-old rising star has been dominating the polls despite being embroiled in a massive issue.
Kim Seon Ho's controversy involves his ex-girlfriend, identified as the former KBS weather reporter turned influencer Choi Young Ah, who claimed that the actor persuaded her to undergo an abortion.
However, tables have turned for the former girlfriend as new reports cited by Dispatch claims that the actor never forced her to terminate the pregnancy and did not have unfavorable gestures towards her after they officially broke up.
