Jo Han-gyeol, a rising actor with Sublime, is getting a lot of attention for his supporting lead role in tvN's "Undercover Miss Hong," a retro office comedy set in the late 1990s.

Jo was born in 2002 and made his acting debut in the web drama Get Off the Earth in 2020. Since then, he has worked steadily, appearing in SBS's "Ghost Story," "Try: Miracles," and JTBC's "My Youth."
Jo Han-gyeol said, "It was an honor to work with Shin-hye noona. She is a senior who has worked with many excellent top actors, so I was grateful that such an opportunity came to a rookie actor like me."
TenAsia says that Jo plays Albert Oh, the grandson of the chairman of Hanmin Securities and head of the crisis management division. He has a fun and easygoing personality. Despite playing a role that predates his birth, Jo has received accolades for his immersive and fresh performance.
Jo said, "There are many reference materials available these days. I frequently asked the executive director at my company and received a lot of help from Chat GPT. YouTube and social media are also very active, so you can find everything just by searching. I looked up a lot of movies, dramas, and interviews from that time."
He also discussed movies that inspired him while he was getting ready, saying, "The movie No Sun is particularly memorable to me. Since it features the 'Orange Tribe,' it was great for referencing the costumes and atmosphere. I also watched Typhoon Family to try and understand the sensibilities of that era."
Jo talked about how people reacted to his performance and how he was becoming more well-known. He said, "I almost always watched the show live. Every evening, after working out and going home, I made sure to watch it while eating. At first, I was worried because the ratings were only 3%, but I had faith that they would eventually go up."
He also told a funny story about meeting fans, saying, "Yesterday, a customer and the restaurant owner recognized me as the actor who appeared in Undercover Miss Hong. So I went and signed autographs for them. However, they didn't know my name, Jo Han-gyeol, and asked if I was 'Miss Hong' or 'Albert.' I told them that was correct. It feels like my original name has disappeared. But that's okay. At least they recognize me."
Jo Han-gyeol told Naver that he wants to be in a terrestrial broadcast drama again soon and win an award this time."I have never done an OTT project. I am grateful if I am sought after for any project, but what immediately comes to mind right now is the desire to meet viewers around the world through an OTT project."
He ended by thanking his co-star, Park Shin-hye, and saying, "She was the best. I learned a lot from her attitude on set and her acting, and she really took care of me. I was happy because she accepted my acting well and was always considerate. It was so good that I would like to meet her again in another project."
