Kakao TV's newest mystery thriller drama "Shadow Beauty" starring Shim Dal Gi, Golden Child Bomin, PENTAGON Hongseok and fromis_9 Nagyung released new posters, amplifying anticipation.
The drama is based on a popular webtoon of the same name which follows the story of a bullied student Goo Ae Jin, played by Shim Dal Gi, who happens to live a double life as an online social media influencer and beauty guru named "Genie," played by fromis_9 Nagyung. She is known for her flawless and vibrant beauty.

Kakao TV unveiled a new mysterious poster for the upcoming drama "Shadow Beauty" featuring Shim Dal Gi, Golden Child Bomin, PENTAGON Hongseok and fromis_9 Nagyung.
The four actors stand in a single file, capturing their personalities as they smile for the camera. Goo Ae Jin and Genie both wear the same uniform and name tag, both owning the name Goo Ae Jin.
While the real Goo Ae Jin has no expression on her face, Genie, on the other hand, flaunts a small creepy smile, raising curiosity.
Lee Jin Sung and Kim Ho In, played by PENTAGON Hongseok and Golden Child Bomin, respectively, stand behind the two girls, sporting different looks. Lee Jin Sung smiles thinly, expressing his nonchalance. However, Kim Ho In raises the anticipation as he appears disturbed and nervous.
Attention is focused on what kind of portrayal the four will show, whether or not they give their characters life and justice. Curiosity is also amplified over the four characters' connections with each other.

Apart from the main poster, character posters were released for Goo Ae Jin, Kim Ho In, Lee Jin Sung and Yang Ha Neul.
Goo Ae Jin's individual poster perfectly expresses her sad life as the class punching bag who is often bullied by her fellow students. As she contains her pain and tears, she shows her strength through her unwavering gaze. The phrase in the poster reads, "I know no one relates to my tears."
Opposite Kim Ho In, the class president and role model of the class. He flaunts his focused and determined soul as the caption reads, "There are many things that I want to know about you."

Lee Jin Sung, an idol trainee and Goo Ae Jin's only friend, shows off his bright smile and cheery personality. His character poster depicts his friendly nature which reads, "I believe in you!"
Lastly, rising star Yang Ha Neul who portrays Goo Ae Jin's biggest bully Heo Jung Hee, crosses her arms and brags about her rude attitude. The caption solidifies her unfriendly nature which translates to, "You ugly witch! You're not worth taking seriously."
'Shadow Beauty' Teases Potential Viewers With New Eerie Trailer
The newly released video teaser portrays the daily life of the poor, bullied Goo Ae Jin.
Heo Jung Hee, her bully, strokes her hair and forcibly grabs her by the chin, mocking her appearance.

Goo Ae Jin's sullen voice narrates, "I'm the school's loser but when I come home, I'm the most famous social media star Genie with 770,000 followers."
She then boosts her self-esteem with make-up and expensive clothes, posing confidently for the camera.

The next day, her only friend Lee Jin Sung comments, "You look like someone," making Goo Ae Jin nervous. However, when she asks who she looks like, Lee Jin Sung jokingly replies, "A goblin!"
The new "Shadow Beauty" teaser ends with Goo Ae Jin laughing maniacally through the darkness, raising anticipation and excitement.
The production team of the drama said, "The double life story of Goo Ae Jin will certainly make the viewers' palms sweat in suspense. Please look forward to seeing Goo Ae Jin's transformation into Genie."
On the other hand, "Shadow Beauty" is set to air for the first time on November 20 at 8:00 p.m. KST on Kakao TV. It will also be available for worldwide online streaming on Viki.
