'Our Beloved Summer' Episode 6: Kook Yeon Soo Leaves Before She's Left Alone
In the previous episodes, Yeon Soo has been painted as the self-absorbed and cold-hearted top student who doesn't care about others. Unbeknownst to many, it's just a facade to keep herself from getting hurt.
Yeon Soo grew up in a very poor family, which made it easier for other people to step on her. Pride is the only thing that kept her going, so she forced herself to be tough in order to survive.
But after meeting Woong, her perception in life gradually changed, and realized that there is more to life.
However, she also realized how different the things were between her lover, who grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. She was immensely jealous of Woong, who could live his life the way he wanted without sweat.

When Yeon Soo's grandmother became ill, the mountains of debt also came, making it difficult for her to make ends meet as a college student. Although she loved Woong, Yeon Soo couldn't bring herself to be around him, not when she needed to work hard to pay off their debt. Not when her insecurity was eating her alive.
Choi Woong Fulfills His Promise
Because Yeon Soo agreed to film a documentary with him once again, he fulfills his promise to collaborate with Yeon Soo's company to illustrate their company building live as the nation-renowned artist Ko-o.
When it comes to illustrating things, which is Woong's passion and hobby as well as source of living, he's very serious and intricate.
This is a side of Woong which Yeon Soo has never seen before, and she admired him for it. The respect she has for Woong increases, and realizes that she still adores her dorky ex-boyfriend.
When Woong finished drawing, top idol NJ (Noh Jung Ui) visits Woong to congratulate him, earning surprise reactions from the crowd and reporters.
Interestingly, Yeon Soo feels uneasy. There's a foreign feeling that made her heart ache after seeing the two together.
Kook Yeon Soo Pulls, Choi Woong Pushes
Clearly, Woong still has feelings for Yeon Soo. When he thinks that he was having a fever dream about his ex-girlfriend, he quickly goes to her place to clarify things.
Despite their constant banter, Woong still aches for Yeon Soo's embrace. He wants to ask her about her life, whereabouts and the things that bother her. However, the line hinders him from doing so.
