Lee Dong Gun On His Singing Career, “I Want To Go Back To Being A Singer”

Actor Lee Dong Gun has just recently made his comeback as an actor, but it seems that he has another field of entertainment he wants to come back to.

For the recording of the new reality program "Cheongdamdong 111" which stars artists from the company FNC Entertainment, Lee Dong Gun, CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa and CEO Han Sung Ho sat down and conducted an interview after a competitive game of golf.

Jung Yong Hwa, who stars as his love rival Park Se Joo in the KBS drama "Future's Choice", asked him, "Why did you sign a contract with FNC Entertainment when it mainly caters to singers?"

"I believe that by joining the company, I could help it while it's trying to expand, and it will be beneficial to both parties," he answered honestly. However, he surprised everyone by adding, "But the most important reason is because I want to go back to being a singer."

Lee Dong Gun debuted as a singer in 1999 with the album "Hoping My Wishes Reach Heaven", but gained mainstream popularity as an actor, especially after his participation in the dramas "Sweet 18" and "Lovers in Paris". He is currently starring in the drama "Mirae's Choice" as the news anchor Kim Shin.

"Cheongdamdong 111" will premiere on tvN this November 21 at 12MN KST.
