‘Squid Game’ Star Jung Ho Yeon to Work With Cate Blanchett for Upcoming Apple TV+ Series

Jung Ho Yeon will be on to her first project after the mega-hit Netflix series "Squid Game."

The runway model and actress is making a name for herself not only in the fashion industry but also in Hollywood after joining the star-studded cast of Apple TV+'s upcoming thriller series.

Jung Ho Yeon Joins Cate Blanchett, Sacha Baron Cohen, More in 'Disclaimer'

According to Deadline, the 27-year-old South Korean beauty will star in the new series "Disclaimer" alongside Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, as well as Sacha Baron Cohen and Kodi Smit-McPhee, who previously confirmed their appearance. 

The upcoming Apple TV+ series is based on the novel written by Renee Knight and will be directed by Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, who is behind the notable movies "Gravity," "Roma," and "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

In the forthcoming thriller series, lead star Cate Blanchett took on the role of Catherine Ravenscroft, a renowned and accomplished TV documentary journalist. The tension rise after she recognizes herself in one of the novels written by a widower, played by Kevin Kline.

Meanwhile, Jung Ho Yeon portrays Kim, who works for Catherine Ravenscroft. 

As described by the media outlet, the "Squid Game" star's new character is an "ambitious, hardworking and eager-to-please" who knows that working for the respected journalist will be her much-awaited big break. 

Her upcoming TV series with Cate Blanchett will be Jung Ho Yeon's first project in the U.S.

Aside from her mother agency, Saram Entertainment, the 27-year-old actress is also represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of Hollywood's major talent management companies.

It is the home for award-winning stars such as Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, and top-notch musicians like Beyonce, Cardi B, Norah Jones, and Justin Bieber.

From signing top tier agency in Hollywood, Jung Ho Yeon, alongside her "Squid Game" co-star Lee Jung Jae makes history at the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. 

The lead stars have become the first South Korean actors to win the Best Male and Female Actor in the Drama Series category. 

Aside from their individual recognition, the Netflix series also took home Outstanding Performance By A Stunt Ensemble In A Television Series, winning three out of four categories nomination. 

During her acceptance speech, Jung Ho Yeon couldn't help but get emotional as she thanked the organizations and fans who supported the show. 

Moreover, she also shared that being an actor is one of her biggest dreams and expressed her gratitude for making her dreams come true and "opening the door" for opportunities. 

"Squid Game" is the first-ever acting stint of Jung Ho Yeon after trying her luck in showbiz. 

Prior to this, she solidified her name in fashion, walking for renowned designers and gracing high-end fashion magazines. 

Following her breakthrough performance in "Squid Game," the 27-year-old beauty was selected by the French luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton as their global ambassador.
