According to a K-media report published on April 10, multiple dramas based on webtoons and web novels dominate numerous online streaming platforms. Series that originated from these introduce a unique storyline and change the landscape of existing K-dramas that have similar romance and family stories.

Fantasy genres that include characters living in the underworld and time travel are becoming more common to consumers. The animation and new aesthetic effects that pop out in the middle of the series are no longer unfamiliar to the audience. 

K-dramas adapted from webtoons and web novels were initially produced on some of the famous online streaming platforms. The collaboration between Korean broadcasting companies and foreign online video services is getting bigger.

SBS' series "A Business Proposal," which stars Kim Sejeong, Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Min Gyu, and Seol In Ah, is a drama based on Hae Hwa's Kakao Page web novels and webtoons.

For three consecutive weeks, it ranked first in the non-English category on Netflix, along with tvN's "Twenty Five, Twenty One." Even if Ahn Hyo Seop and Kim Sejeong's drama roles were not exactly the same in the web novel, they were still popular because of their strong chemistry that viewers enjoyed.

Another drama that receives consistent compliments from viewers is MBC's new series, "Tomorrow," which kicked off in the first week of April. It originated from Rama's Naver webtoon, a fantasy series about grim reapers who prevent people from ending their lives.

Kim Hee Sun's character transformation gives perfect synchronization to the original character in the book. The production team also played vital roles as they worked hard on visual effects to give viewers a experiences. 

New SBS drama "Again My Life," which stars Lee Joon Gi, premiered on April 8. It is also based on a web novel under Kakao Page. The biggest advantage of novels is that they are fresh and have limitless genres and materials.
