Great news for Lee Junho and YoonA shippers! The much-awaited small screen comeback of the heartthrob has been confirmed, and he will team up with the idol-actress in a new romantic-comedy drama!
Lee Junho Reunites With YoonA in K-Drama 'King the Land'
K-media outlet Newsen surprised many with their preport on April 20 that 2PM's Lee Junho and SNSD's YoonA will team up in a new drama. The two confirmed their appearance in the upcoming series "King the Land" (working title).
The drama follows the story of a chaebol heir who can't stand the fake smile of other people. His life will turn upside down after meeting a woman who always smiles brightly even when she doesn't want to.
Lee Junho plays the role of Goo Won, a conglomerate heir who can't stand a pretentious smile. He is smart and charming but doesn't believe in love.
Lim YoonA, on the other hand, takes the role of Cheon Sa Rang, a lady who has an optimistic mindset even though she's struggling in life.
What We Know So Far About 'King the Land'
The romantic-comedy series will be penned by Chun Sung Il, the creative mind behind Netflix's series "All of Us Are Dead."
NPIO Entertainment is expected to produce the drama, and they are also the company that produced Lee Junho's previous series "The Red Sleeve Cuff" and Park Min Young's "Forecasting Love and Weather."
In addition, "King the Land" plans to start filming production this year once the casting is completed. However, the broadcasting platform where the drama will air is not yet confirmed and is still under discussion.
Fans are excited to see the two prominent stars share the same frame and showcase their already existing chemistry as K-drama couple!
From Friends To MBC Gayo Hosts To K-Drama Couple
Lee Junho and YoonA had their stage collaboration last December when they performed the hit English song "Señorita" at the 2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon. They were also the host of the event. Their performance video immediately garnered attention and surpassed two million views in less than a week after it was uploaded, proving their popularity as second-generation icons.
But prior to this, YoonA and Lee Junho have been friends for a long time, given that they are from groups of the same generation. Fans are now on the ecstatic to see the two level up their chemistry through a Korean romantic show.
