IU Makes ‘Broker’ Co-star Song Kang Ho Cry — Here’s What Happened
IU invited her "Broker" co-stars Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, and Lee Joo Young as her guests in the latest episode of her YouTube vlog episode,"Palette." There, the Cannes Film Festival 2022 Best Actor became emotional as he talked about his acting journey.
'Broker' Cast Surprised by IU's Personality on Her YouTube Vlog 'Palette'
Ahead of the grand premiere of the K-movie "Broker" on June 8, its cast gathered together and made special appearances at IU's YouTube show last June 7.
The members were surprised to see how bright and energetic the singer-actress was hosting the program because she didn't speak that much when they were filming the movie.
She then explained she was overthinking her words might make them uncomfortable, adding she was always nervous because it was her first time working on a film. IU added she regretted not talking to her co-stars more before.
In one of the show's interview segments, the celebrity guests were asked to give each other compliments that they had never heard before from others.
Lee Joo Young and IU picked each other, while Kang Dong Won and Song Kang Ho unexpectedly got their names.

There's an option to change the order, but the female singer said the actors could give a compliment themselves. Lead actors were shy at first but eventually had the courage and confidence to praise themselves.
Song Kang Ho Gets Emotional While Sharing His Struggles as an Actor
Everyone was not aware that the task would make the newly-hailed Best Actor cry. When it was his turn, Song Kang Ho felt emotional when he looked back on his acting journey of 27 years.
"Acting is a lonely profession. There's (always) a pressure to be busy and do well rather than being flashy."
He went on: "Time flies. The public compliments and evaluates only by looking at the outermost part of the actor's achievements and results."
Song Kang Ho added, "The reason why I was able to endure those things throughout 27 years..." and suddenly made a pause before tears started to form in his eyes.
Meanwhile, IU, Kang Dong Won, and Lee Joo Young were stunned to see the veteran actor expressing his true self to them. The "Parasite" star tearfully delivered his message but tried to hide his emotions by smiling awkwardly during that time.
"I have never received any compliment before. But today, I think I can praise myself for being able to endure and come this far. I think I can finally encourage myself as I have gone through such difficult times in my career," said Song Kang Ho.
The host of the show, IU showed her gratitude to the actor for sharing such a serious story. Song Kang Ho said he felt embarrassed because it was a spontaneous revelation and wasn't in the script, but he liked it.
For him, it was the only opportunity where could talk about such a story of his journey.
