On Friday, June 24, Song Joong Ki was reported to be chosen to lead the new noir film "Hwaran" (literal translation) as his latest project after "Space Sweepers."
In response to the report, HISTORY D&C, Song Joong Ki's agency, announced that the actor was offered the titular role and is reviewing it positively.
"Hwaran" is a noir film that depicts the stories of various precarious characters who create dangerous choices to escape the hellhole that is reality.
Once Song Joong Ki accepts the offer, he will begin his principal filming in the year's second half.
"Hwaran" will be produced by Sanai Pictures and Song Joong Ki's beloved label HISTORY D&C. Further details such as the final drama lineup, filming locations and more are not yet disclosed.

Through the drama, Song Joong Ki is expected to show his comical and chill personality that he has never shown in any of his previous works.
In addition, fellow "Vincenzo" actor Jo Han Chul, Kim Kang Hoon, Girls' Generation Tiffany, and more are also part of the new series.
"The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate" is slated to be released in the second half of 2022.
Song Joong Ki's 'Bogota: City of the Lost' and What We Know So Far
On the other hand, Song Joong Ki's upcoming film "Bogota: City of the Lost" is now in its post production process.
The film also includes Lee Hee Joon and Kwon Hae Hyo. It showcases the stories of immigrants who spearhead a dangerous feat in Bogota, the last land for the hopeless lives.
The principal filming of the movie ended in October 2021. However, the production unit of the upcoming film "Bogota: City of the Lost" hasn't announced its exact release date yet.
