If you want to take a break from romance and light genres of series, "Sweet Home," "Move To Heaven," and more K-dramas will be an eye opener to you and make you question life and humanity. 

1. 'Sweet Home'

Following its successful season 1, "Sweet Home" is bound to release new seasons beginning in 2023. This follows the story of Cha Hyun Soo (Song Kang), who moves to an apartment complex after the death of his family. Because of the tragic incident that happened in his life, he already wants to end his life. But strange things start to happen in the building when his neighbors begin to turn into monsters.

2. 'Mouse'

Depicts the story of a rookie police officer, Jung Ba Reum (Lee Seung Gi), whose life is turned upside down when he encounters a psychopathic serial killer. It drives him and his police partner Go Moo Chi (Lee Hee Joon) to discover the truth behind psychopathic behaviors. This also raises questions as, to whether it is possible to know a psychopath in the mother's womb using fetal genetic testing, and whether will it be wise to keep that child.

3. 'Happiness'

Starring Han Hyo Joo and Park Hyung Sik. This foretells the journey of residents of an apartment block during quarantine, who have to deal with zombies in their building. In particular, there's a hidden psychopath and a growing romance between Jung Yi Hyun and Yoon Sae Bom.

4. 'Yonder'

It is set in 2032 in a large metropolitan area. An interesting story of a husband grieving over the loss of his wife. One day he is given a chance to meet her again in a mysterious place called Yonder. He feels confused after receiving a message from his late wife but decides to go anyway to finally see his beloved partner.

5. 'Kingdom'

Set in the backdrop of Korea's medieval Joseon era. It introduces the story of Crown Prince Lee Chang (Ju Ji Hoon), who got involved in a political conspiracy and is forced to embark on a mission to investigate the spread of a mysterious undead plague that attack the emperor and the country's southern provinces.

6. 'Life on Mars'

It is a remake of a British series of the same name. This follows the journey of the leader of a crime investigation unit. He got involved in an accident, and as soon as he woke up, he finds himself in 1988. Apart from adjusting to his new life, he is entangled to solve a serial murder case that might allow him to return to his origin.

7. 'Move To Heaven'

After the sudden death of his father, Han Geu Ru (Tang Jun Sang), who has Asperger syndrome, starts to live with his ex-convict uncle Sang Gu (Lee Je Hoon). They join forces to run Geu Ru's family business, which is called "Move To Heaven." They uncover untold stories about the deceased while Sang Gu tries to deal with his painful past as well as the traumatic incident that landed him in jail.
