The versatile star wowed viewers after delivering a top-notch performance playing the role of Jin Hwa Young, the only daughter of Soonyang Group founder Jin Yang Chul, portrayed by Lee Sung Min.
Now that the drama has come to an end, the 41-year-old actress talks about what prompted her to accept the offer and the reason for playing Jin Hwa Young.
As obtained by a local media outlet, Kim Shin Rok reveals how she got the part and shared the similarities between her and her "Reborn Rich" character.
Kim Shin Rok Got 'Reborn Rich' Role Jin Hwa Young Because of Character in 'The Curse'
In the interview, the actress shared that "Hellbound" played a big reason why she was able to join the cast of "Reborn Rich."
Kim Shin Rok tells the outlet that she was contacted by the casting director through a recommendation.
"She also saw my performance in 'The Curse,' and in the same year, when she saw that I was nominated for the Best Actress Award at the Baeksang Arts Awards for the play 'Nokcheon Has Field of S**t.'"
The actress also thought that the director saw that she could act as part of a rich family because of the play.

As for playing the role of Jin Hwa Young, what drew her to the character is the script and the charm of her role. She thought that the script was "so much fun" as well as "the charm of the regression was great."
"It was good that each character was drawn three-dimensionally well without being functionally consumed," she added.
Kim Shin Rok Didn't Read the Original Web Novel - Here's Why
The actress also mentioned that she didn't read the original web novel and "trusted" the work written by the screenwriter. For her, the script was so well written that she had fun filming it.
Interestingly, Kim Ahin Rok revealed that some think that she had a reference for her role. However, for the actress, she "did not refer to anyone in particular."
She tells the outlet that the "images of women from chaebol families were used as inspiration" and no one in particular.

Kim Shin Rok once invest in stocks and coins but all went down the drain just like Jin Hwa Young. Hence, her character was accused of embezzling the company's money.
