'Alchemy of Souls' Revealed To Be Originally Written With Sad Ending

A week after the drama's conclusion, fans are in on a secret about the highly rated series "Alchemy of Souls"!

The series depicts the story of mages whose fates were tested due to the sorcery that shifts people's souls. Lee Jae Wook and Go Yoon Jung played the star-crossed lovers Jang Uk and Naksu in the drama.

Despite the twists and turns, the series ended on a good note, which exceeded the viewers' expectations. It also appeased many fans' anxiety about sad endings.

In a recent interview, Lee Jae Wook shared that he didn't know what the ending would be until the release of the final episode of "Alchemy of Souls."

According to the actor, the whole cast of the drama filmed several endings, which made it difficult for them to guess whether "Alchemy of Souls" ends on a bright or gloomy note.

Lee Jae Wook was relieved when he watched the finale, knowing that his character finally receives the happy ending that he deserves.

Aside from him, fans were also delighted to see Jang Uk and Naksu finally be with one another after the tragedies that happened in their lives.

One viewer wrote, "Thank God the Hong Sisters decided to give them a happily ever after! I can't imagine Jang Uk and Naksu apart at the end of the series!"

As for the alternate endings that the cast filmed, tvN hasn't announced about its release for broadcast as it will cost them their resources.

The production unit also believes that it's unnecessary to air it when the drama has already ended.
