Jang Ki Yong Offered To Lead New Drama Ahead of His Military Discharge

Jang Ki Yong is yet to make his return to the entertainment spotlight after his military discharge, but the actor already received an offer to star in a new drama.

Jang Ki Yong To Possibly Make His Drama Comeback With 'Not A Hero'

Based on the news report by Star News on February 10, Jang Ki Yong is being courted to headline the new drama "Not A Hero." 

According to the published synopsis, "Not A Hero" is the story of a family with superpowers, but lost their ability due to an unexpected incident. The potential project of Jang Ki Yong might be helmed by Cho Hyun Tak, the creative mind behind "SKY Castle" and "Snowdrop." 

Writer Joo Hwa Mi who penned "Introverted Boss" and "Marriage Not Dating," will work hand-in-hand with Mr. Cho.

After the news broke out, Jang Ki Yong's agency YG Stage immediately released a statement about the project. According to the company, it is true that the actor was offered to lead "Not A Hero." However nothing is confirmed yet as of the moment. 

K-Heartthrob Scheduled To Finish Military Service This February

Jang Ki Yong is currently in his last month in the army and is scheduled to be discharged from the military this coming February 22. Though he is still fulfilling his duty, the actor's influence didn't change as he was quick to receive new work ahead of his discharge. 

If the heartthrob accepts the offer, it will be his first-ever drama comeback after showbiz hiatus.

Meanwhile, Jang Ki Yong entered the army in August 2021. Before he fulfill his duty, he received a lot of love from viewers for his dramas "Now, We Are Breaking Up" alongside Hallyu superstar Song Hye Kyo and "My Roommate is a Gumiho" where he worked with singer-actress Lee Hyeri. 

However, the male star was able to enjoy his corporal life as he has been active in joining various activities inside the camp. He even starred in a musical play along with EXO's Chanyeol and Kim Myung Soo.

Attention is focused now on Jang Ki Yong on whether he will accept the drama being offered to him. Other cast and details about the project are yet to be announced.
