‘Oasis’ Episode 1: Seol In Ah Meets Jang Dong Yoon & Chu Young Woo

The first episode of "Oasis" heralds the dangers of a hot and fiery love triangle between three different individuals.
Oh Jung Shin Meets Lee Doo Hak & Choi Cheol Woong
"Oasis" episode 1, which is set in the 1980s, begins with Lee Doo Hak (Jang Dong Yoon) and Choi Cheol Woong's (Chu Young Woo) who secretly enter a theater during school hours.
There, they meet Oh Jung Shin (Seol In Ah) for the first time. Like the two men, she's also sneaking into the theater to escape school.
After the film is over, the three of them leave and run into a gang they had fought with on the bus in the morning. Scared, they all run away while laughing, which marks the beginning of their friendship.
Lee Doo Hak's Silent Battle
Lee Doo Hak and Choi Cheol Woong, who live different lives, are like brothers. Lee Doo Hak grew up with only limited resources while the other easily gets what he wants in life.
Lee Jeong Ho (Kim Myung Soo), Lee Doo Hak's father, knows how bright his son is. He then asks his son not to beat Choi Cheol Woong despite being the most intelligent in their class.

It is because Lee Doo Hak's father owes the Choi family for helping them achieve independence. This leads viewers to infer about the status of their relationship and who's the one who holds great power between them.
Unfortunately, love is also a different kind of war. Oh Jung Shin then transfers to their school and easily becomes the best of friends. Because of her beauty and likable personality, the two young men fall in love with her.
Blossoming Romance Between Two Youths
Lee Doo Hak forgets about his father's reminder for a minute, and spends more time with Oh Jung Shin. He also gets first place in the school exam which angers Choi Cheol Woong.
When the two young boys meet Oh Jung Shin's parents who look like they came from wealth, Choi Cheol Woong mentions Lee Doo Hak's parents whose only source of income is their farm.
The obvious difference between the three families sends Lee Doo Hak to embarrassment but thankfully, Oh Jung Shin's parents didn't mind at all. Choi Cheol Woong only did this to spite the other, after he got beaten in their exam.
Lee Doo Hak Learns About Oh Jung Shin's Feelings
At home, Lee Doo Hak kneels down to his father and promises not to defeat Choi Cheol Woong in anything. In return, he would continue his studies.
Fortunately, his father agrees and Lee Doo Hak transfers to an agricultural high school, avoiding Oh Jung Shin with his might to give way to Choi Cheol Woong.

Unbeknownst to him, Oh Jung Shin also feels the same way. She then kisses him at the field with Choi Cheol Woong witnessing everything.
At the end of the episode, Lee Doo Hak gets imprisoned after getting involved in a murder case with Choi Cheol Woong.
