As per News Nate, the actor made this revelation during a May 15 appearance on KBS2's "Stars' Top Recipe at Funstaurant". The episode featured singer Kim Jaejoong, who invited Yoon along with actors Choi Jin Hyuk and Yoo Seon Ho to his home, where the group discussed their experiences with romance and marriage.

The conversation began with Choi Jin Hyuk sharing his feelings about his mother's attitude toward marriage. He said his mother nagged him about everything except marriage and that it sometimes felt like she didn't want him to get married.

Kim Jaejoong responded by saying he believed that a man living with his mother can never have a dating life. Yoon Si Yoon then agreed with their sentiments and gave his own perspective. He had previously mentioned he had no plans for marriage within the next four years.

"I also feel that my mother hates the idea of me getting married someday," he said.

A report from Koreaboo stated that Yoon went on to share a specific incident that surprised the other guests. He recalled a date with a former girlfriend when he rode in his mother's car and asked to be dropped off in front of a station. Instead, his mother drove past the station without stopping.

When he confronted her by saying, "Mom! I told you to let me off!" her response confused him. Yoon said, "She just said, 'I don't know!' and sobbed uncontrollably while grabbing the steering wheel."

Kim Jaejoong jokingly asked if Yoon was not getting married because of his mother. To this, Yoon replied with a blend of humor and seriousness, "Actually, it really is because of my mom."

Choi Jin Hyuk expressed sympathy for Yoon's situation, connecting it to their shared experience as only sons. Yoon offered an explanation for their mothers' behavior, theorizing that they see their sons as their sole support system and thus become possessive.
