Song Kang spoke about the much-awaited K-drama "Sweet Home" season 2, and his interesting nickname during his first fan-meeting in Manila, Philippines.

Song Kang Gets Emotional During His 1st Fan Meeting in Manila + Reveals He Was Inspired by THIS 'Titanic' Actor

During his press conference for the skincare brand Deoproce, the South Korean heartthrob warmly greeted his Filipino fans. The "Navillera" star couldn't help but tear up upon seeing such an energetic and warm crowd. 

As cited by a media outlet, Song Kang was welcomed by screaming fans, which surprised the actor. He shared that he is currently filming a show but glad to see his fans on his day off.

"I really did not think I am going to cry. I am really surprised," he said, expressing that he is "always thankful" for the support of her fans.

"I hope you can all be happy, and you can all be healthy. I am so honored," he added.

Meanwhile, the actor also revealed the Hollywood star that inspired him to be an actor. Song Kang shared that it was the award-winning Leonardo DiCaprio that inspired him to join the industry after watching him in the hit movie "Titanic."

Lo and behold, the 28-year-old actor is now one of Hallyu's top-notch stars, and not to mention a sought-after endorser in Korea!

Song Kang Talks About Upcoming 'Sweet Home' Season 2

Debuting in 2015 for the series "Hello, Spring," Song Kang amazed viewers with his versatility and eventually landed playing main characters, which includes the blockbuster Netflix series "Sweet Home." 

Taking the role of Cha Hyun Soo, the 28-year-old actor transformed into a high school student, who finds himself in the middle of an apocalypse, along with his neighbor at Green Mansion. However, he became a superhuman after he accidentally gained power.

Song Kang will reprise his role in Seasons 2 and 3, along with new and returning stars.

During the press conference, he gave hints at what to expect in the upcoming sequel. He described the second season with a "storyline that's really detached from reality."

Moreover, he said that playing Cha Hyun Soo is the character that is closest to him.

"It's the character that I'm pouring a lot of my time and energy into right now," he said, as obtained by a news portal.

Interestingly, the two upcoming seasons will focus on the "story of people who have grown and matured in the first season."

Song Kang on Being Hailed as 'Son of Netflix'

Although he has worked in various broadcast networks, Song Kang's remarkable series is have to be under Netflix.

From "Love Alarm" seasons 1 and 2 to "Sweet Home" seasons 1 to 3, this collectively is the reason viewers dubbed him as the "Son of Netflix."

With that, the actor expressed how honored he is to be part of the Netflix family, noting that he has been with the platform since the beginning of his career.

"Every time I go to Netflix, whatever project is ongoing, I'm always enjoying my work with the people that are familiar to me," he said, pointing out how thankful he is to be working with the streaming giant often.
